care instructions for period underwear
Wash your Bloomi before wearing it. This is very important. You can compare the absorbent fabric in the gusset to a towel: if you don’t wash it, it won’t absorb any moisture.
Rinse! If you’ve worn your Bloomi, rinse it under the tap or take it into the shower with you before putting it in the wash. Do NOT soak the pants in water! Then hang them on the rim of the laundry basket until your next wash.
Wash at a maximum of 40°C. Wash with your other laundry. Use standard washing powder or eco-friendly detergent, but no fabric softener (please note that most laundry pods also contain fabric softener). Instead of fabric softener, you can use organic apple cider vinegar. It’s fine to spin-dry.
Do not tumble dry. Hang your shorts up to dry. It’s best not to put your Bloomies in the tumble dryer, as this can cause the technical fabrics in the gusset to lose their effectiveness.
Sometimes, after a few months, the nappies may need a thorough clean. This is especially true if you occasionally notice that your nappy is leaking more quickly, or if you feel it’s starting to smell a bit more.
By giving them a more thorough clean once every three months, you’ll ensure that the Moodies last as long as possible, prevent unpleasant odours, and keep everything hygienic and clean.

FAQ
Bloomi are briefs designed to absorb menstrual blood and light urine leakage, meaning you no longer need to use sanitary towels, tampons or other sanitary products.
Bloomi uses technical fabrics in the gusset that absorb and distribute moisture, ensuring you stay leak-free. The side against your skin is made of a comfortable sports fabric that allows moisture to pass through easily and keeps you feeling dry.
These are all breathable fabrics, treated with an antibacterial wash, which means there is hardly any odour and they are very natural and hygienic.
That depends, of course, on how often you wash them, but assuming that’s once or twice during your period, we estimate that you’ll need four or five pairs.
If you follow the washing instructions, Bloomis will last for around 50–60 washes, so depending on how often you wear them, you can certainly use them for at least three years.
With an average period, you can wear a Bloomi for a whole day or night (8–10 hours). But every period and every body is different, and if your flow is heavy, the pad may not be able to absorb it all at once. In that case, opt for a heavy or heavy-overnight absorbency, sometimes with an additional solution such as a tampon or cup.
We recommend trying it for a day first when you’re relaxing at home, so you can see how it works for you. And here’s a handy tip: if the seams in the panty become damp, it’s time to change!
